Utica Man Arrested

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Utica man was arrested after an incident in the parking lot of the Oneida County Office Building. On May 1, 2024, at about 9:30 AM deputies were alerted to a dispute in the parking lot. A construction worker observed a male and female having a heated argument, with the male pushing the female several times causing her to lose her balance. When the good samaritan construction worker yelled for the male to stop, he proceeded to approach and pulled a knife out of his pocket and menaced the construction worker. A struggle for the knife ensued with others assisting by calling 911, and holding the suspect until police arrived.

Dominic M. Launux, 37, of Utica was taken into custody by Sheriff's Deputies. He was transported to the Sheriff's Office and processed on the charges of Menacing in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony. Launux is currently being held awaiting arraignment on the charges.
