According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol,

On February 12th 2018 around 11:40 A.M. Deputies responded to a two-car minor injury motor-vehicle accident that occurred on Academy Street in the Village of Boonville.

An investigation revealed that 63 year old, Michael Sokoloff of Boonville, NY was operating a 2012 Dodge Ram north bound on Post Street when he conducted a wide turn onto Academy Street. Sokoloff failed to keep right at the intersection and struck 62 year old, Charles Halstead of Port Leyden, NY who was operating a 2005 Ford Taurus.

Neither parties sustained injuries however Halstead was evaluated on scene by the Boonville Fire Department for a complaint of pain in his lower arm.

Sokoloff was issued a citation returnable to Village of Boonville Court at a later date and time.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Boonville Fire Department and Boonville Police Department.
