According to Oneida County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Joseph Lisi, Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Rome man was arrested following an investigation that he had sexual intercourse with a child. On Tuesday, February 13, 2018 Sheriff's Office Investigator M. Bolton and Sheriff's Office Investigator C.J. Paravati, both assigned to the Child Advocacy Center, arrested Willie Williams, age 43, for engaging in sexual intercourse with a female child less than 15 years of age in the City of Rome earlier this month. Williams was charged with Rape in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony and was held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility pending arraignment at the Centralized Arraignment Court. An order of protection was requested on behalf of the Victim and the Victim has been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center.
