According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, 4 people were transported to local hospitals after a 2 car motor vehicle accident in the Town of Marcy.

The Accident occurred on Friday, May 31, 2019 when Rae Smith, 17, of Marcy was operating a 2006 Cadillac on River Road and was attempting to turn onto Cavanaugh Road when her vehicle collided with a 2008 Mazda operated by Edward Scanio, 71 of Utica. Both drivers and a passenger from each vehicle were transported to area hospitals for evaluation of minor injuries.

Smith was issued a ticket for failure to yield right of way returnable to Marcy Town Court at a later date.

Assisting on scene were members of the New York State Police, Kunkle and Cocvac ambulance and Maynard Volunteer Fire Department.
