According to Oneida County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is also the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a 16 year old Utica male juvenile has been arrested for Falsely Reporting an Incident in the 3rd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

The incident was called in to the Child Protective Services (CPS) hot line during the overnight hours between May 24th and May 25th by an unknown person stating severe allegations.

Oneida County Sheriff's Investigator Mark R. Chrysler and a Senior Case Worker from CPS, both of whom are assigned to the Child Advocacy Center, were assigned the case. During the course of their investigation, it was learned that the allegations were not true. Further investigation revealed evidence that corroborated that a false report had been made and linked the false report to the 16 year old, who's identity is being withheld due to his age.

The 16 year old was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Probation later this month.

The child and parent were cleared of any wrong doing and are both safe.
