According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Friday, September 20th, 2019, at about 1036 P.M., Deputies responded to State Route 49 in the Town of Floyd for a reported Personal Injury Motor Vehicle Accident. The investigation into the accident determined that Abigail J. Loomis, 36 of Ava, was operating her red, 2004 Jeep Wrangler, Westbound on State Route 49 when Abigail failed to maintain her lane. Abigail veered off of the North shoulder of the roadway and her vehicle flipped and rolled several times and came to complete stop once in came into contact with a tree line. Abigail was found to be operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She sustained injuries to her back and she was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital by AmCare Ambulance for further evaluation. Abigail was issued multiple citations and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Floyd court at a later date. Deputies were assisted by New York State Police, AmCare Ambulance, and Floyd Fire Department.
