According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Saturday, October 6, 2019 one man was arrested following a domestic incident in the Town of Lee.

On October 5, 2019 at about 9:06 PM, Deputies responded to the Rome Police Department to investigate a reported Domestic Incident that occurred in the Town of Lee. Based on investigation, it was determined that on October 5, 2019 at approximately 5:00 PM, Carlos A. Velez-Perez, age 32 , of Lee, NY was involved in a domestic incident while at a residence in the Town of Lee. At some point during the domestic incident, the situation escalated into a physical confrontation. After the physical confrontation, Velez-Perez was located at the residence in the Town of Lee and taken to Rome Hospital for an evaluation. After Velez-Perez was evaluated, Velez-Perez was arrested and brought to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office where he was booked and charged with Unlawful Imprisonment in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree (damage property to prevent call to Police Department), a Class A Misdemeanor and Harassment in the 2nd degree, a Violation. Velez-Perez was then brought to the Oneida County Correctional Facility and held pending an arraignment in Oneida County CAP Court.

Deputies were assisted by members from the New York State Police and AmCare Ambulance.
