According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M Maciol; on October 12th, 2019 at approximately 10:58 P.M., Deputies responded to Beacon Light Road in the Town of Verona for a single car personal injury motor vehicle accident. Through the Deputies investigation, they found the driver, Lisa Rivera, 52, of Utica, NY was driving her 2005 Honda Odyssey southerly on Patrick Road when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Beacon Light Road, ultimately coming to rest in the southern ditch on Beacon Light Road. A passenger in the vehicle, Raul Vasquez, 49, of Utica, NY was transported by Vineall Ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for further medical evaluation.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office STOP-DWI Unit responded to the scene and subsequently arrested Rivera for DWI. Rivera was released on Appearance Tickets returnable to Verona Town Court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Verona Fire Department and Vineall Ambulance.
