According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, two people were sent to the hospital after a car struck a pedestrian in the Town of Lee.

At approximately 11:56 AM, Hanna Casadei, 20 of Lee, was walking her dog on Brookfield Road in the Town of Lee, when she was struck by a 2006 Ford Fusion, operated by Steven Allen, 43 of Blossvale. While investigating the accident, Deputies on scene learned that Allen had fled the scene on foot, into a nearby wooded area. A passenger in the vehicle, Sarah Vaughn, 37 of Rome also sustained injuries in the accident. Vaughn confirmed that Allen was the operator of the vehicle.

Casadei was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for evaluation of hip and leg injuries. Vaughn was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital for evaluation of an arm injury. Both parties injuries are not considered life threatening at this time.

Deputies were unable to locate Allen on scene, and the investigation is still ongoing at this time. Any witnesses to the accident or information on Allen's whereabouts are urged to contact the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.
