According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol the Deputies from the Road Patrol responded to a 2-car serious motor vehicle accident on State Route 12b in the Town of Kirkland at approximately 7 PM Sunday night. Richard Burdick Jr., 56 of Clinton was operating a 2006 GMC Sierra Pick-up truck northbound on State Route 12b. In the vehicle with Burdick was Lawrence Gell, 57 of Clinton, Kelly Gell, 44 from Clinton and Lauren Gell, 22 also of Clinton. Burdick was transported to St. Elizabeth's Medical Center via Ambulance for facial injuries. Kelly and Lawrence were both transported by Ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital for minor injuries. Lauren was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for minor injuries. Burdicks vehicle struck a 2012 Honda Civic that was traveling southbound on Route 12b being driven by David Pearsall, 66 of Morrisville and his passenger, Lorie Pearsall, 65 also of Morrisville. David was pronounced dead on scene and Lorie was transported by Ambulance to St. Elizabeth's Medical Center for evaluation. The Sheriff's Office reconstructed the scene of the crash. The Criminal Investigation Unit is handling the investigation.
