According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, the Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent homicide in the Town Of Whitestown. Sheriff Maciol states that the Whitestown Police were called to what appeared to be a motor vehicle accident, behind a barn on Westmoreland Rd. in the Town Whitestown shortly before 12pm today. Officers from the Whitestown Police as well as Sheriff’s investigators arrived on the scene and discovered the body of Quaheim Holland 20 years old, of Utica NY. Holland was found deceased in a vehicle behind the barn suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and the deceased was taken to the Onondaga County Medical Office where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

The Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, Forensic Unit, K-9, Unit, UAS Unit, and Criminal Investigation Unit were assisted by the Whitestown Police. The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Utica Police Department.

Westmoreland Rd. was closed for a short time during the initial phase of the investigation, and is now re-opened.
