Two inmates have been charged with possessing contraband in the Oneida County correctional facility. According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, Kendall Jackson 40 of Utica, and Kyle McJury 19 of Canastota have been charged with promoting prison contraband in the first degree. Corrections officers found that the inmates each had a lighter in their possession. McJury possessed marijuana in addition to a lighter. The inmates were arraigned in the centralized arraignment court and are being held at the correctional facility. Promoting prison contraband is a class D felony. They will return to court at a later date.
