According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Town of Florence man was arrested by members of the Child Advocacy Center on this date. Darius Seaton, age 22 was arrested by OCSO Sergeant M. Bolton and OCSO Inv. Nicholas Dean, both of whom are assigned to the CAC. Seaton was charged with one count each of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both Class A Misdemeanors. The investigation revealed that Seaton had subjected a 13 year old male to sexual contact during the Summer of 2018, while in the Town of Ava. This investigation was initiated by a report made directly to the Child Advocacy Center by the local council of the Boy Scouts of America, who have assisted fully with this investigation. Seaton was released on an appearance ticket made returnable to the Town of Ava Court, at a later date. An order of protection will be requested on behalf of the Victim. CAC Services have been offered to the Victim through both the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center and the McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center in Syracuse, N.Y.
