According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on Saturday, October 10th 2020, a male was arrested following a traffic stop in the Town of Verona.

On Saturday, October 10th 2020, at about 11:30 PM, a Deputy assigned to the DWI unit was traveling in an easterly direction on E Main Street in the Town of Verona when he observed a blue in color Ford F-250, driving in the middle of the roadway on E Main Street. The Ford continued to travel in an easterly direction towards Spring Road. The Ford then crossed State Route 365 while on Spring Road nearly striking a telephone poll. The Ford proceeded to travel in an easterly direction on Spring road where the operator then swerved in the oncoming lane causing another motorist on the road to pull over to the shoulder. The deputy then conducted a traffic stop and identified the operator as Kevin M. Porter of Verona.

As the Deputy spoke with K. Porter he noticed indicators of impairment by alcohol. K. Porter was ultimately put through standardized field sobriety testing which showed that K. Porter was impaired by alcohol. K. Porter was taken into custody and transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked/processed for DWI and issued 4 traffic citations which are returnable to Verona Town Court at a later date. After K. Porter was booked/processed, he was released to a sober party.
