According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on February 22nd, 2021, at about 1:31 P.M., Deputies responded to State Route 365 near the Barrington Road intersection for a reported two car, personal injury, motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Madison H. Beckwith (24), of Syracuse, NY, was operating a black 2018 Dodge Durango westbound on State Route 365.The investigation determined that due to the mixture of Madison’s speed and roadway conditions, she lost control of her vehicle. Upon attempting to correct her vehicles actions, she over corrected and entered into the oncoming lane. Upon doing so, a tractor trailer, operated by Jeffery J. Patterson (57), of Covington, PA, was traveling in the opposite direction. Madison collided head on into Jeffery causing Madison to sustain injuries to her neck, stomach, right wrist, and right leg. Madison was transported via Vineall Ambulance to Oneida City Hospital for further evaluation. Jeffery sustained no injuries from the incident.

Madison was issued a citation for her speed not being reasonable and prudent to the current weather conditions. The citation is returnable to the Town of Vernon court at a later date and time. Oneida County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted on scene by Oneida Castle Fire Department, Vineall Ambulance, Clinton Collision, and Kinney’s Kar Kare.
