It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Retired Deputy Randy Skinner, 62, of Camden.

Deputy Skinner passed away at the home of Aaron & Katie Avard while under their care and the care of Hospice.

Randy was born June 19, 1959, in Rome, NY a son of Preston & Marilyn Dean Skinner, and was a 1978 graduate of Camden High School. He then attended Grayson Community College, Conroe, TX where he studied piano tuning. He tuned pianos for a few years in the Central New York area.

Prior to attending the Black River Police Academy, he worked for the NYSDEC. He then served as Patrolman for the Villages of Camden and Vernon for many years before joining the Oneida County Sherriff’s Office. Deputy Skinner recently retired on Sept 30, 2020.

Randy enjoyed hunting, music, and animals.

Surviving are his mother, Marilyn & Larry Roser, Altmar, NY, along with his furry friends; Jaboo, Ricky, Rocky, and any other cats that needed a home.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc. Camden, NY. Calling Hours will be held Thursday from 5 -7 pm at the funeral home, 109 Main Street.
