According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on August 26th, 2021 at about 1:59 P.M., Deputies responded to Valley View Road in the Town of Westmoreland for a reported property damage motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, deputies determined Christopher Peck, was operating a truck towing a trailer that had an excavator loaded on it traveling in a western direction. While Christopher was traveling, he struck a set of low hanging utility wires with the truck and excavator which caused additional damage to a nearby utility pole. Christopher was able to remove himself from the scene of the accident without getting injured and awaited till deputies and fire department personnel arrived on scene.

Repairs to the utility pole and wires have been completed and the roadway has been reopened at this time.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office were assisted on scene by Westmoreland Fire Department, National Grid, and Spectrum.
