CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT NYS ROUTE 49

Town of Vienna, Oneida County

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Utica Regional Office has issued the following traveler advisory for motorists in the Town of Vienna, Oneida County:

On Monday, September 27, 2021 starting at 7:00AM Route 49 between CR 68 (Mill Rd) and CR 68A (Mulholland Road) will be temporarily closed to thru traffic due to the replacement of a culvert. Motorist will encounter a short detour utilizing CR Routes 68 and 68A. The road is scheduled to reopen by Saturday, October 2, 2021.

During construction, variable message signs and detour signs will notify motorists of the Road closure and direct them to the detour.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
