According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on October 2, 2021 at about 4:28 AM, Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Cavanaugh Road and Morgan Road in the Town of Marcy for a single car personal injury accident. Through an investigation on scene, it was discovered that Alexi W. Rodriguez age 51, of Rome was operating a 2013 Volkswagen and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Cavanaugh Road and Morgan Road at which time Rodriguez crossed over Morgan Road coming to rest in a wooded area. Rodriguez was not injured during this incident however his passenger Ray Rodriguez age 30 of Rome suffered minor injuries to his face and knee. Ray Rodriguez was transported by Kunkel Ambulance to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for treatment. The Oneida County Sheriffs DWI Unit responded to the scene and Alexi Rodriguez was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and issued several other traffic summons and released to a sober 3rd party. All summons are returnable to Marcy Town Court. Deputies were assisted on scene by the NYSP, Maynard Fire Department and Kunkel Ambulance.
