According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, a Floyd man was arrested after fleeing from a stolen vehicle he was driving while in the Town of Verona. On Monday, January 31, 2022, just before 11:00 pm, Thomas A. Grant Jr. (40) was arrested after he failed to stop for deputies who were attempting to conduct a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle. Grant Jr. fled the vehicle on foot and was taken into custody a short distance from the vehicle.

He was charged with the following:

Possession of Stolen Property 3rd (Class D Felony)

Resisting Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor)

Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd degree (Class A Misdemeanor)

Grant Jr. was booked at the Law Enforcement Building and then turned over to The Town of New Hartford Police Department on unrelated charges. Grant Jr. was then brought to OCJ to await arraignment.
