According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, one driver was cited regarding a property damage accident MVA involving a tractor trailer on Route 8 in the Town of Paris.

Deputies arrived on scene at approximately 9:14 pm on February 27, 2023. Investigation into the accident determined Vijay Vijay was operating a 2022 Peterbilt tractor trailer Northbound on Route 8 in the Town of Paris when coming around a curve, due to the slippery roadway conditions and unsafe speed from the driver, the tractor trailer left the roadway on the Western shoulder. The tractor trailer struck a tree, two road signs, a stop sign and came to rest on its left side falling onto a telephone pole. The driver was extracted from the vehicle by the Cassville Fire Department. The driver was uninjured and signed off on any medical treatment. The driver was issued two UTT's, one for leaving the lane unsafely and one for imprudent and unreasonable speed, returnable to the Town of Paris Court on a later date.

Route 8 has now been opened up at this time.

Sheriff's Deputies were assisted on scene by Cassville Fire Department, Clinton Collison, and NYS DOT.
