The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...Southeastern Oneida County in central New York...

* Until 1000 AM EST.

* At 655 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...Utica, Rome, New Hartford, Westmoreland, Floyd, New York Mills, Yorkville, Clinton, Oriskany, Clayville, Clark Mills, Stittville, Kirkland, Paris, Deerfield, Whitesboro, Maynard, Colemans, Chadwicks and Oriskany Battlefield State Historic Site.

Sauquoit Creek at Whitesboro was up to the bridge. Significant flooding is expected as heavy rain will continue this morning.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
