According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, Deputies responded to a one car personal injury motor vehicle accident on the 13th of June 2024 at approximately 2:51 pm. Investigation found that a 2022 Ford Transport Van from the Upstate Cerebral Palsy, operated by Korae Penny, 20, of Utica, was traveling westbound on Morgan Rd. in the Town of Marcy when a backseat passenger became physical with her. Penny was unable to maintain control of the vehicle and it veered off the south shoulder of the roadway where it struck a National Grid transformer and a tree before coming to rest. As a result of the accident, both the operator and rear passenger were transported by Kunkle Ambulance to the Wynn Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries. No other passengers reported any injuries at the time of the accident. Deputies were assisted on scene by Maynard Fire Department, the accident is still under investigation.
