On August 2, 2024; a City of Rome Man on the Oneida County Sheriff's Office "Top Ten Wanted List" was arrested by members of the Rome Police Department.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol; Gerald D. Allen, 36, of 523 Expense St. in the City of Rome was taken into custody by members of the Rome Police Department in the 600 Block of Croton Street, after being spotted riding his bicycle. Allen was also "Wanted" on a Rome City Court Warrant for the charge of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree. Shortly after being spotted by Police, Allen abandoned the bicycle and a brief foot pursuit ensued. He was later taken into custody by members of the Rome Police Department and later transported to the Oneida County Correctional Facility. While at the Oneida County Correctional Facility the Oneida County Drug Court Warrant for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree was lodged, by members of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Warrant Unit. He was later arraigned on said charge and remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility with NO Bail.
