According to Sheriff Maciol of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, on August 18, 2024, at about 7:30 PM, Sheriff's Deputies, Camden Fire Department, Florence Fire Department, and Highway Departments responded to the town of Camden and the Town of Florence for multiple roads that are currently flooded due to the heavy rain. The Sheriff's Office is requesting the public to avoid traveling in Camden, especially in the area of Route 69 and Pennymix Rd, North Hillsboro Rd and Johnnie Cake Rd, River Rd and River Rd in the Florence area until the waters recede. Please avoid the area so that the crews can work on clearing up the roadways.
