According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on August 30th, 2024, at approximately 6:39 P.M. Deputies responded to a reported personal injury ATV motor vehicle accident that occurred on Prusinowski Road in the Town of Annsville.

Deputies determined that 28-year-old Shane Duhamel of Connecticut had been operating a 2020 Polaris UTV westbound on Prusinowski Road when he lost control of the vehicle and exited the roadway on the northern shoulder of the roadway. When the vehicle exited the roadway, the vehicle rolled with both Shane and his passenger, 47-year-old Sean Shanley (also of Connecticut), inside. The vehicle then struck a stone wall structure causing the vehicle to continue to roll before coming to rest approximately 40 feet off the roadway. Members of the Taberg Fire Department and members of AmCare Ambulance Services responded to the scene to assist Deputies.

The driver, Shane, was transported to Wynn Hospital with non-life threatening injuries while the passenger, Sean, was transported to Rome Health where he was pronounced deceased.

No citations have been issued, nor has an arrest been made as this accident is still under investigation.
