According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, an Oriskany Falls man has been arrested for False Personation and other charges.

On 9/23/2024 a Deputy had observed and positively identified a male who was a wanted subject out of Madison County. The Deputy approached the male who then provided a false name and date of birth to the Deputy. As the Deputy was attempting to take the male into custody the male then engaged in a physical altercation with the Deputy in an attempt to resist his arrest. The physical altercation ultimately resulted in the Deputy's TASER being used in order to get the male under control. The male was then placed into custody with the assistance of the New York State Police.

As a result of the physical altercation, the Deputy received a minor injury to his leg. The Deputy was treated on scene and released by EMS.

As a result of the incident, David M. Marriott (39) was arrested and charged with:

False Personation, B Misdemeanor

Resisting Arrest, A Misdemeanor

Obstructing Governmental Administration Second, A Misdemeanor

Harassment Second, Violation

Marriott was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building where he was processed and transported to CAP Court for pre-arraignment. Marriott was released on his own recognizance and was ultimately turned over to the New York State Police in Morrisville on his Bench Warrant.
