According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol there was a 3 car motor vehicle accident on Route 233 in Rome at around 8:46 PM on November 19th that caused two lanes of traffic to be closed. Gerald Esposito age 17, of N. Jay St. Rome was operating his 2002 Chrysler northbound on Route 233 in Rome when he struck a Nissan being driven by Brittany Fobes, age 25 of Chinook Lane Altmar. Fobes vehicle was then pushed off of the road. Espositio then struck a Mitsubishi driven by Richard Potter, 35 of Liberty StRome. Esposito was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital by AmCare Ambulance for minor injuries. Fobes and Potter, were not injured. Esposito was issued tickets for Unreasonable speed and following too closely. AmCare and Rome FD assisted on scene.
