According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol,

On 1/6/19 around 11:08 A.M. Deputies and members of the Trenton Joint Fire District (Barneveld Fire Department and Holland Patent Fire Department) responded to a barn fire at 10306 Whittaker Road in the Town of Trenton.

Fire personnel on scene confirmed that no one was injured.

The barn was completely destroyed as a result and there was approximately 250 cattle that perished in the fire.

Assistance was also provided by Floyd Fire Department, Stittville Fire Department, Remsen Fire Department, Deerfield Fire Department, Western Fire Department, National Grid, STaR Ambulance, AmCare Ambulance and New York State Police.

Poland Fire Department was placed on standby for coverage of any emergency/medical calls in the area. STaR Ambulance also had additional staff available for emergency/medical coverage.

The NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control will be assisting fire personnel with determining the cause of the fire.
