Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Receives Jail Accreditation Now Making the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Fully Accredited

Only 12 of New York’s 60 Sheriff’s Offices Are Fully Accredited This afternoon at a ceremony at the beginning of the Oneida County Board of Legislators meeting, the Corrections Division of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office received its’ first ever Accreditation from the New York State Sheriff’s Association. Peter Kehoe, Executive Director of the New York State Sheriff’s Association made the formal prestigious presentation to Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente, Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, Undersheriff Joseph Lisi, and the Sheriff’s Accreditation Team. The team consisted of Chief Deputy Greg Pflieger, Captain Lisa Zurek, Lieutenant Deborah Harris, Sergeant Donna Campbell, and Sergeant Kristina Devoe. Also at the ceremony, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Civil Division received its’ Re-Accreditation which occurs every five years after the initial accreditation. This presentation, also by Peter Kehoe, was made to Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente, Sheriff Robert Maciol, Undersheriff Joseph Lisi, Chief Deputy Jon Owens, and Lieutenant Craig Critelli. The Law Enforcement Division of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office received its’ initial accreditation from the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services in 2006 and has been re-accredited every five years since then. Now, after today’s Jail Accreditation, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office becomes only the 12th fully accredited Sheriff’s Office out of the 60 County Sheriff’s Offices in New York State.
