According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On January 17, 2019 at about 6:17 AM, Deputies responded to the Cliff’s Local Market at State Route 5 and State Route 233 in the Town of Westmoreland for a reported one car motor vehicle accident. Deputies determined that Anna Nowakowski (82), of Clinton NY, was operating a black 2005 Kia Sorrento in the parking lot of Cliff's Local Market and was attempting to enter a parking space. Nowakowski lost control of the vehicle and collided with the front of the building before coming to rest partially inside, causing major damage to the front entranceway.

Nowakowski was evaluated by EMS and was uninjured in the accident. Nowakowski was found to be operating without a license and was issued citations returnable to Town of Westmoreland court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office were assisted on scene by the Westmoreland Fire Department, COCVAC Ambulance, and the New York State Police.
