According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol,

On January 23rd, 2019 around 8:00 A.M. Deputies responded to Hawkinsville Road and Hayes Road West in the Town of Boonville for a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries. An investigation revealed that , Michael Desmarais from Boonville, NY, was operating a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica south east on Hayes Road West. Due to Desmarais's speed being unreasonable or prudent for the road conditions, he was unable to stop at the intersection. As a result, Desmarais's was struck by Mary Chrzan of Boonville, NY operating a 2003 Toyota Camry.

Both Desmarais and Chrzan were transported by Boonville Ambulance to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for further treatment.

Desmarais was issued a traffic summons and is to return to Town of Boonville Court at a later date and time.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Boonville Fire Department, Boonville Ambulance and New York State Police.
