According to Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol, on 2/2/19 at about 11:20pm, emergency crews responded to Sconondoa Road in the Town of Verona for a personal injury one car motor vehicle accident. Erika Savachka, 18, of Verona was operating a 2005 Jeep Liberty traveling eastbound when her vehicle went off the road hitting a utility pole due to slippery road conditions. Savachka was treated for minor injuries at the scene and transported to St. Elizabeth’s hospital for further evaluation. Savachka was cited for aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the 3rd degree as well as speed not reasonable and prudent for the road conditions and is to appear at Verona Court on a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Verona Fire Department, Vineall Ambulance and the Oneida City Police Department.
