According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On February 5, 2019 at about 1100 AM, Deputies responded to State Route 5 near the intersection of Deans Highway in the Town of Westmoreland for a reported one car motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Robert Glickman (73), of New Hartford, NY, was operating a grey Honda Accord on Route 5 eastbound. Glickman’s vehicle moved from the lane unsafely crossing both lanes of traffic and into a yard striking a utility pole on the South shoulder of the roadway causing heavy damage to the vehicle and utility pole. The vehicle then continued through the yard before coming to rest in a ditch. Glickman was taken from the scene by COCVAC Ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital to be evaluated for minor injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, Kathleen Glickman (63) of New Hartford, NY, was also taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for head and chest pain. Glickman was issued citations returnable to Town of Westmoreland court at a later date.
