According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, 1 person was sent to the hospital following a Motor Vehicle Accident on Rome Oriskany Road in the City of Rome. On February 23, 2019 at approximately 3:43 PM, Robert Whitney, 60, of Whitesboro NY, was attempting to operate his 2017 KTM Motorcycle in the driveway of 7460 Rome Oriskany Rd. Whitney lost control of his motorcycle due to the ice covered driveway which resulted in personal injuries. Whitney was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for a lower left leg injury. No traffic tickets will be issued. Assisting on scene were members of Amcare Ambulance, Rome Fire Department and Stanwix Heights Volunteer Fire Department.
