According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol there was a single snowmobile accident on a private trail that runs parallel with State Route 12 in Sangerfield at around 11:59 PM on February 22, 2019. The snowmobile being operated by a Nathan Rockwell age 20 from Osborne Ave Waterville. Rockwell was operating his 2006 Polaris snowmobile Northbound on the trail running parallel with State Route 12, when he came over a hill and became air borne, both the operator and the passenger were ejected. The passenger on the snowmobile was a Kendra Soto age 20 from Hill Rd in Verona. Soto was transported by helicopter to Suny Upstate with head injuries. Rockwell was transported by Central Oneida County Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital for shoulder and hip injuries. The Oneida County Sheriff’s was assisted by Waterville Fire Department and Central Oneida County Ambulance.
