According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol; On March 4th, 2019 at approximately 1:15AM, Deputies responded to State Route 26 in the Town of Vernon at the intersection of Cooper Street for a reported hit and run motor vehicle accident. It was reported that a vehicle struck a residence.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling south on State Route 26 when it crossed over into the north bound lane and struck a tree, a utility pole support wire, and then came to rest after striking a residence located at the south east corner of the intersection. The vehicle then fled the scene south on State Route 26.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Vernon Fire Department.

Deputies are looking for assistance in identifying the vehicle involved. The vehicle is believed to be a 2003-2007 Chevy Silverado 2500, possibly tan in color. The vehicle is missing the lower front center bumper and both fog lights. The vehicle is also missing part of the driver side head light and driver side mirror.
