According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol:

On March 7th 2019 around 4:30 P.M. Deputies responded to a one car motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries on State Route 46 in the Town of Western. Upon arrival, the vehicle was unoccupied and the occupants fled the scene.

After a thorough investigation, Deputies determined that Shannon Richardson (31) of Westmoreland was operating a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander northbound on State Route 46 when her speed was unreasonable and/or prudent for the road conditions. Richardson was unable to maintain control of her vehicle, failed to keep right, exited the roadway and struck a residence on the western shoulder of the roadway. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the accident. The front seat passenger, Matthew Widman, fled the scene.

Richardson was issued several tickets including speed not reasonable and/or prudent, failure to keep right, aggravated unlicensed operator and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Richardson was treated for her injuries at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.

Deputies were assisted on scene Boonville Ambulance, Western Fire Department, local witnesses and Clayton's Auto Sales.

The investigation is still ongoing.
