According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol a Pennsylvania man avoided serious injury after being involved in a snowmobile accident in the Town of Camden. On 03/08/19 at around 1:40 PM Stephen Zettl, 49, of Boyertown, PA was traveling north on Trail C4M in the Town of Camden on a 2011 Polaris snowmobile when he struck a small void in the trail caused by running water. Zettl’s machine stopped abruptly after colliding with the void causing Zettl to be ejected from the snowmobile. Zettl sustained a wrist injury as a result of the incident, and was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital by Camden Ambulance for treatment. It appears that Zettl was operating in a safe manner at the time of the crash, and therefore no tickets were issued. Members of the Camden Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
