According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On March 8, 2019 at about 415 PM, Deputies responded to State Route 26 at the intersection of Lowell Rd in the Town of Westmoreland for a reported two car motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Eric Emmons (20), of Constantia, NY, was operating a red 2015 Dodge Dart on Lowell Rd westbound. Emmons’ failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign when entering the intersection and struck a black 2013 Chevy Cobalt operated by Rebecca Uetz (25), of Rome, NY in the driver side of the vehicle causing heavy damage to both. Uetz’s vehicle continued off the West shoulder of the roadway before coming to rest in the snow. Uetz was transported from the scene to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital to be evaluated for head, neck, and hip pain along with her two year old son who was not injured. Emmons was issued citations returnable to Town of Westmoreland court at a later date.
