According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol 5 were injured in a motor vehicle accident involving a school bus in the Town of Lee.

At approximately 830 am on March 18th a Birnie Bus carrying Bellamy Elementary Students was stopped on Stokes-Westernville Road in the Town of Lee loading students. As the last student was finding his seat, the Birnie Bus was rear-ended by a 2008 Pontiac operated by Christine Connolly, 29 of Lee. Connolly was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for evaluation of lower leg and chest injuries. 4 Students from the bus were transported to Rome Memorial Hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.

Connolly was issued several traffic tickets including following too closely and speed not reasonable and prudent returnable to Lee Town Court at a later date.

Assisting on scene were members of the New York State Police, Lee Center and Lake Delta Volunteer Fire Department and Amcare Ambulance.
