​According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Monday, March 18th, 2019, at about 6:52 P.M., Deputies responded to the intersection of State Route 20 and State Route 12 in the Town of Sangerfield for a reported Personal Injury Motor Vehicle Accident. The investigation determined that Stephen Power, 61, of Madison, Connecticut, was operating a blue, 2005 Volvo in a westerly direction on State Route 20. Mr. Powers failed to stop at a red traffic light on State Route 20 subsequently causing Mr. Powers to collide into James Crandall, 19, of Waterville. Hannah Nowak, 18, of Oriskany Falls was a passenger in Mr. Crandall’s vehicle. Nowak was transported via ambulance to St. Luke’s hospital for a medical evaluation for non-life threatening injuries. Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted on scene by members of the Waterville Fire Department.
