According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Westmoreland man was air lifted to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse for injuries he sustained in a single car accident.

On Sunday, May 5, 2019 at approximately 1 PM, Dakota Collins, 18 of Westmoreland, was driving a 2005 Nissan Murano southbound on Bartlett Road in Westmoreland when his vehicle left the western shoulder of the roadway, striking the ditch and then a telephone pole.

Collins was airlifted from the scene to Upstate Hospital in serious condition with arm, chest and head injuries

No citations have been issued at this time.

Assisting on scene were members of the Westmoreland Fire Department, COCVAC ambulance and Mercy Flight.
