According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, at approximately 7:00 this evening a resident on Luke Road in the Town of Marcy called in what appeared to be a burglary in progress to a neighbors’ house. The resident called the 911 center, and Sheriff’s Deputies, along with members of the NYS police and NYS environmental conservation police responded. Two subjects were detained at the scene and interviewed by Sheriff’s Investigators.

The homeowner was not home at the time and their whereabouts could not be learned. Investigators are still trying to locate the homeowner, but it appears that the two individuals were not burglarizing the house. The two were released and no charges have been filed.

Due to the fact that they have not been charged their names will not be released.

The 911 call was a good intent call, and the neighbor did the right thing by reporting the incident.
