According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Tuesday June 18, 2019 at approximately 06:50 P.M., Deputies responded to East St in the Town of Bridgewater, for a reported Personal Injury Motor Vehicle Accident involving a motorcycle. The investigation into the accident determined that Candace Machnico, 39, of Richfield Springs, was operating a blue 2003 Honda Rebel motorcycle in a northerly direction on East St, when she failed to negotiate a curve. Machnico exited the west shoulder of the roadway and struck a ditch, subsequently causing the motorcycle to overturn and come to a rest on top of her. Machnico was transported to St. Elizabeth’s hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Sheriff Deputies were assisted on scene by Bridgewater Fire and Ambulance crews.
