Fire Alarm at the Oneida County Court House in Rome

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, there was a fire alarm activation Friday, June 21st, 2019 at about 12:45 p.m. at the Oneida County Court House located at 302 N. James St. in the City of Rome.

A Sheriff's Deputy in the building made sure that everyone in the structure was safely evacuated. The Rome Fire Dept. responded to investigate and determined the alarm was activated by a faulty smoke detector in the main lobby of the building. The building was cleared for re-entry by the Fire Department and the system was being repaired by Building Maintenance.
