According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Tuesday, June 25th, 2019, at about 7:07 P.M., the Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Dayton Road and State Route 12 in the Town of Remsen, for a reported personal injury motor vehicle accident. The investigation into the accident determined Jacqueline Doolen of Remsen, was operating a red, 2018 Kia Sportega westbound on Dayton Road, was at fault when she failed to yield the right of way at the intersection, to a silver, 2008 Toyota sedan operated by Kerrigan Catlin of Castorland. Caitlin’s vehicle collided with the front, driver side wheel well area of Doolen’s vehicle, sending both cars into the center of the intersection. Both vehicles sustained severe damage from the accident and both individuals were transported by STaR Ambulance to St Elizabeth’s Medical Center for injuries sustained from the accident. Deputies were assisted by STaR Ambulance, the Remsen Fire Department, and the New York State Police.
