According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash involving two motorcycles on Rome Taberg Road in the City of Rome around 1:30 AM. Thurston Rudd, 48 of Rome was on his 2001 Harley Davidson Motorcycle with his passenger, Kelly Sabia, 30 of Taberg when they collided with a 2000 Kawasaki being driven by Peter Schipano, 49 of Rome. Rudd was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition. Sabia was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital and was then transferred to Suny Upstate Hospital in Syracuse and is in critical condition. Schipano was also transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital and then transferred to Suny Upstate Hospital and is also listed in critical condition.

The accident is still under investigation, no arrests have been made and no tickets have been issued.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office were assisted on scene by the New York State Police, Rome Fire Department, AmCare Ambulance and COCVAC.
