According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol the Marine Patrol along with the Dive Team spent the day attempting to recover a missing swimmer/boater. The efforts began at 5:00 am with divers from the Oneida County Sheriff’s, New York State Police, Oswego County Sheriff’s and Sylvan Beach Fire Department entering the water. As of 3:00 pm the efforts were not successful. At this time a second rescue call was activated in Oswego County. All dive assets on our South Bay scene were sent to the active rescue which at the time of this release is still on going. Oneida County kept one Marine Patrol boat on its scene conducting a surface search while all others went to Oswego County. Plans for tomorrow include 2 cadaver dogs out of Rochester and state of the art side scan sonar from the New York State Police.
