According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on 7-8-19…
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on 7-8-19 at about 6:15 am, victim James Gambini, 51 of Plains PA, who was reported missing on 7-5-19 at about 6:40 pm, was recovered from the South Bay of Oneida Lake in Oneida County.
On 07/08/2019 at 0615 hrs. Madison County Emergency Services were called to the area for a reported person in the water. Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene and confirmedthat it was a body in the water. Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Road and Marine Patrol along with Forensics Investigators responded to that area andremoved the body from the water and identified the person as Gambini. Gambini was then transported to the Onondaga Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation.
The search and recovery operation has been continuous from sunrise to sunset since the time of report. This operation included many different agencies which were both governmental and private. The below list is are those who assisted. I hope I did not miss any agencies.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s wants to say Thank You to all involved. The Oneida Lake Emergency Services community is huge and is second to none. Between Friday and Sunday three major incidents occurred on Oneida Lake and the combined efforts of the emergency services community handled and completed all three incidents.
